What is Daniel Lambert Wines Ltd?

Recognised as the Regional Merchant of the Year for Wales 2009 and Highly Commended as the Burgundy Specialist of the Year 2009 at this year’s International Wine Challenge, we are among the country’s leading independent, agency based, companies. We’re fast approaching two decades of solid trading experience as one of the UK’s best importers of quality French wines, many of which are top medal winners. We continue to expand our range with the finest wines from classic estates and independent growers, not just in France, but also from a hand selected group of some of the greatest Italian winemakers working today.

Who are we working with in the UK?

We’re proud to say that we’ve cultivated friendly, solid, long-term business relationships with many of the country’s leading independent wine merchants. We do not supply any of the country’s largest supermarkets, so you’re not likely to find any of our wines on a ‘pile it high, sell it cheap’ deal or collecting dust in bargain bins. However, we do work closely with a select group of quality-conscious multiples who share our passion for stocking excellent wines. We specialize in cultivating ongoing partnerships with these businesses to bring additional quality, diversity and expertise to their wine ranging.

Which well-known wines do we sell?

Within our range you’ll find classic wines from some of the finest estates in Bordeaux, Burgundy (including Beaujolais and Chablis), Loire, Rhône, southern France and Sauternes. These include fine selections from the likes of; Chateau Filhot Grand Cru Classe (Sauternes), Domaine de la Pousse d’Or (Volnay), Domaine Vessigaud (Macônnais), Château Guadet Grand Cru Classe (St. Emilion). However, we believe that one of our main strengths is in the depth and quality of our dynamic range. Many of our French, and now Italian, wines have received major honours at top wine shows from around the world. You’ll also find a choice, hand-picked selection of extraordinary Antipodean wines and outstanding Port much vaunted by leading wine writer Robert Parker.

Do we have medal-winning wines?

We’re delighted to say that at this year’s Decanter and International Wine Challenge awards many wines from our range won major honours – more than ever before! Highlights include; Decanter magazine Trophy for Fattoria le Sorgenti Galaccia 2006 IGT Toscana and Gold medal-winner Château Maltroye, Chassagne-Montrachet 2007 Vigne Blanche. From this year’s International Wine Challenge Domaine Vessigaud Pouilly-Fuissé 2007 and Château Deryem Valentin, Margaux 2006 both received well-deserved Silver medals. For more information about our medal-winning wines please contact anyone at Daniel Lambert Wines Ltd.

What’s next

Exemplary wines from leading classic and independent French winemakers, continues to form the backbone of our wine portfolio. And, while we are extremely proud, and privileged, to feature award-winning wines, we are also passionate about developing our range by listing, at all price ranges, wines that are highly-crafted examples of their kind that have a real sense of place and identity. Our new wines include some unique discoveries from winemakers working in unique, often tiny, French appellations. Also, we now feature an exciting range of brilliant wines from some of the finest Italian winemakers.

What make us better than our competitors?

In addition to the points mentioned above, we do not hold fiscal stock in the UK. Therefore we do not have all the cost implication that our rivals have. This then enables us to quickly supply much better quality wines to our customers and in-turn to their customers. This then of course leads to customer loyalty and yet further increased sales over the course of the years.
